Description
Hemingway once said, "there are only two places I love: Africa and Wyoming," and it was here to a cabin at Spear-O-Wigwam Ranch that he came to finish A Farewell To Arms. Horseback riding is the featured activity. There are thousands of acres of Bighorn National Forest to ride in and dozens of trails to choose from, ranging from quiet, meandering forest trails to rugged mountain terrain. All rides are guided and accompanied by experienced wranglers. For a unique mountain experience, you have a choice of half-day or all day rides, or 2 nights or longer pack trip.
Directions:
We are beautifully located 30 miles southwest of Sheridan, Wyoming, in the Big Horn Mountains, near the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area. If you are flying, a ranch car will meet you at the Sheridan airport. If you are driving to the ranch from the north, south, or east, take State Road #335 through Big Horn to gravel Forest Road #26, fifteen miles to the ranch. From the west, take gravel Forest Road #26 off US 14, 5 miles south of Burgess Junction, 28 miles to the ranch. |
